The DOC will be many things. To start, we will host a 7 day intensive course. training, learning, exploring both externally, and internally.
Initially we will do beta trials in the coming year as a 3 day course.

Course Itinerary:

Day 1.
arrival 9:00am
We will set off east from HiLo into the hills above landers. We will find a barren patch of desert where we will dig a hole and bury our phones in a steel box. Then we will continue into the hills where we will visit 800 year old native pictographs, on our way to our campsite for the evening where we will eat over a friction forged open flame and sleep under the stars.

Day 2.
We we return to the HiLo and begin training.
Students will set up in their lodging accommodations and get a tour of the property.
after brunch we will head to the Shop for an introduction course familiarizing everyone with the shop, safety, organization, & shop protocol.
We will begin welding class creating a functional sculpture from steel rod.
after lunch we will have an hour of silent respite. gathering thoughts, writing in journals, preparing minds for the week to come.
as sunset arrives we will begin a fire busting course, this will happen each afternoon & by the end of the week everyone will be able to make fire from sticks & friction.
night 2 dinner will be served. & an outdoor movie will play.

Day 3.
We will wake at dawn and drive to goat mountain for a sunrise hike.
returning for breakfast and the 2nd day of creation.
We will finish welding sculptures (if not already) and begin a woodworking project. Wood carving, Lathe, & build skills will be practiced. It will be a fairly full day with lunch served in the middle.
One more evening of celebration, with music & pizza in the kiva.

Students will leave the following monday phones returned to them from the desert.
The physical skills learned will be a wonderful asset, but the inspiration instilled will be the greatest reward.
